Join the Sharks4kids team for a hands-on STEM focused professional development experience in Key Biscayne, Florida. We are partnering with the Field School, aboard the Research Vessel Garvin, for an intensive 3 day in field program

This program is designed to provide marine science content enrichment, model science inquiry methods and technology integration strategies with current scientific research, provide opportunities for interdisciplinary connections, facilitate utilization of Sharks4kids resources for teachers, and foster a collaboration with our team and other teachers for ongoing networking. Evening presentations provide framework for bringing these incredible experiences back to the classroom.

Daily field activities will include setting scientific drum lines, scientific longlines, collecting data, development of shark research skills, seine netting and BRUV deployment.

The 2 evening presentations will cover:

Intro to Sharks: Anatomy, diversity, adaptations, threats and conservation

Bring the experience and knowledge back to the classroom, school or group.

TESTIMONIALS & GALLERY

"This workshop was an absolute game changer in how I will conduct my lessons in marine science next year. The experience I had on the boat will be so exciting to share with my students. Everything I learned from not only the crew and other participants, but also the sharks themselves will help me make better, more relevant and engaging lessons."

"What an incredible experience! The crew was amazing and they worked like a well oiled machine. I am so happy with the knowledge I gained and have a better understanding of what it takes to gain valuable information for conservation and education. Highly recommended experience!"
