At the end of 2019 we were excited to start planning our first teacher field trip in Bimini. After nearly a decade of student field trips and school visits, it was time to get educators on the water with us. Sadly, COVID hit and postponed our plans.
Fast forward to May 2023. In partnership with Bimini Scuba Center, we were finally able to make our teacher trip possible. 13 teachers and staff from Louise McDonald High School joined us for a half day field trip.
They stopped to view Caribbean reef sharks before heading to Honeymoon Harbour, following the same itinerary our students get. Once at Honeymoon Harbour they were able to see southern stingrays, nurse sharks and blackness sharks. They learned about the species as they were able to interact with them and snorkel.
